About

Paris is a highly experienced naval architect and engineering director for ABL Group in the maritime department.

A chartered naval architect and member of RINA with more than twenty years’ experience in consulting and ship classification. Paris is particularly experienced in ship structural and surveying matters and has provided expert advice in charter-party disputes concerning matters such as seaworthiness, structural strength or repairs.  

He has considerable experience of project management and supervision of very large wreck removal contracts and of tendering, bid assessment and selection of wreck removal contractors. He has carried out assessments of salvage risks and dangers as part of salvage arbitration process and provided salvors with on-site and office based emergency response advice.  

He has an in-depth knowledge of applying computational analysis to problems such as: lack of stability, container loss, mooring and berthing, anchoring, drifting and collision simulation.  

Paris has appeared numerous times before arbitration tribunals in London to give expert evidence in naval architecture matters.  

Prior to joining ABL Group, Paris had 13 years of experience with a major classification society in a variety of survey and consultancy roles. Paris is also a fluent Greek speaker.
