Recruitment of Personnel

Due to continued growth worldwide we seek Master Mariners, Naval Architects, Marine Engineers, Civil Engineers, Offshore Engineers, and Structural Engineers who wish to develop or enhance their careers as consultants.

At LOC you would expect to undertake challenging assignments and be prepared to travel overseas and offshore. You would have a high degree of client contact and consequently candidates should have very good communication and reporting skills.

In particular, we seek the following personnel:

London

Master Mariners
We seek a master mariner with a Class 1 Certificate of Competency, preferably with command experience in tankers, bulk carriers or gas carriers, to join our team as a marine consultant. This is a senior position that would suit a person wishing to develop or enhance a career as a consultant, investigating and advising on major shipping incidents.
In addition we require a master mariner with experience in managing offshore projects.

Naval Architects
CONSULTANT NAVAL ARCHITECT

You will be investigating shipping casualties, providing technical advice in commercial disputes and conducting analytical studies in both the shipping and offshore energy sectors. There will be a high degree of client contact and opportunities for overseas travel on assignments.

You should have proven analytical skills, Chartered status, a degree in naval architecture and good report writing skills. Current experience in sea keeping studies, mooring analysis or ship manoeuvring will be an advantage.

GRADUATE NAVAL ARCHITECT
You will be providing assistance and technical support in both shipping and offshore investigations. You will have the opportunity to develop your analytical skills whilst working with other experienced specialists on a diverse range of projects. You should have a relevant degree, preferably with at least one year’s experience of working in the shipping or offshore industries.

Civil Engineers
We require a Chartered Maritime Civil Engineer experienced in the design and construction of marine works to join our established and highly successful team.
The position will involve a mix of office and site based work.  Office work will include studies, reviews and engineering design work.  Site attendances will require travel worldwide to undertake facility inspections and approvals and investigation of marine casualties.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong communication and negotiation skills.

 

Middle East

Master Mariners and Marine Engineers
Opportunities exist for candidates to join our teams in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. Applicants should preferably possess a Class 1 Certificate of Competency and have recent experience serving as Master or Chief Engineer. Applications from candidates who have held senior positions at sea, particularly those with experience in marine surveying or consulting, would also be welcome.

Naval Architects and Offshore Structural Engineers
Our office in Abu Dhabi currently has vacancies for the above positions.

 

Stavanger

Naval Architects and Structural, Offshore & Pipeline Engineers
Our office in Norway currently has vacancies for the above positions, both at senior and graduate levels.

Master Mariners
Mariners, particularly with extensive offshore and rig move experience, are required to become involved in the various projects currently being undertaken by this office.

 

Aberdeen

Naval Architect, Structural Engineer, Subsea Engineer
Senior personnel required. Candidates should preferably have experience in marine warranty survey work.

Master Mariners
We have positions for master mariners with experience in offshore marine operations.

 

Singapore

Master Mariner
We require a master mariner with a Class 1 Certificate of Competency, preferably with command experience of tankers, bulk carriers or gas carriers, who has experience or wishes to develop a career as a marine consultant. This senior position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting major shipping incidents in the South East Asia region on behalf of clients based internationally.

Marine Engineer, Offshore/Structural Engineer

Canada

Master Mariners and Marine Engineers

We seek a master mariner with a Class 1 Certificate of Competency, ideally Foreign Going and preferably with experience of ice navigation, to join our office in Nova Scotia as a marine consultant.  Previous shore based employment would be an advantage as would experience of the Great Lakes and/or the offshore industry.

We would also be interested to receive applications from marine engineers holding Class 1 Unlimited, particularly those with surveying and/or consultancy experience.

Canadian residency is a requirement for these positions.
