Marcio is a naval architect with a master’s degree in Ocean Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is a registered engineer with CREA. Prior to joining LOC he worked for a design consultants undertaking a wide range of calculations including trim and stability book, riser dynamic analyses.

Since joining LOC Marcio has been involved in a wide range of marine operations as Marine Warranty Surveyor including barge transportation of offshore modules by barge, a very heavy shipyard lift using strand jacks, and vessel suitability surveys.

James is a Master Mariner with extensive experience as a cargo surveyor in Brazil and world-wide. He also has experience in the management of container ports and oil refineries following a career in the British merchant marine as deck officer and master in cargo ships, oil tankers and bulk carriers.

Since joining LOC James has undertaken cargo survey work for project cargos and iron ore fines and acted as cargo superintendent for discharge of condensate cargos and he attended casualties including a container vessel stack collapse. Capt. Frew also undertakes marine assurance and P&I surveys.

Jesper is Master Mariner and senior consultant with LOC Brasil. He has extensive experienced as captain of anchor handling vessels and platform supply vessels in Brazil. He also has experience as SDPO/Chief Officers on drill ships in Brazilian waters. Prior to working offshore he served on coastal, container and heavy lift tonnage for various Danish ship operators.

Since joining LOC Jesper has been involved in assisting clients plan rig moves, has undertaken marine assurance surveys, towage surveys, and acted as Marine Warranty Surveyor for operations including barge transportation of offshore modules and a very large shipyard lift using strand jacks.

André is a marine consultant at LOC Rio de Janeiro. Andre has extensive experience in the Brazilian merchant marine, serving as 1^st Officer on AHTS vessels, tankers, Ro-Ro vessels and high speed craft. He has extensive experience as a Marine Warranty Surveyor, for both rig moving as well as construction and installation of FPSOs. André also worked and a consultant and project manager for a major rig moving and mooring contractor in Brazil.

Ruiz is a mechanical engineer with very extensive experience of the Brazilian marine industry. He has held executive positions at a major marine equipment manufacturer, been involved in technical and managerial roles for new construction projects including offshore modules, chemical and gas tankers. He has also worked a ship repair yard and in vessel management for a Brazilian operators of chemical and gas tankers, and offshore supply vessels.

Since joining LOC Ruiz has been involved in investigating machinery breakdowns and preparing expert reports in fuel consumption disputes and other consultancy work.

Antonio is a Naval Architecture / Marine Engineer with a Master’s degree in Production Engineering. He joined LOC Rio de Janeiro in 2013 from a shipowner where he was technical manager responsible for maintaining, repairing a fleet of bulk carriers, chemical tankers and gas carriers. Previously Antonio worked with a major Classification society as surveyor and subsequently operational manager for ships in service for Latin America. He is an ISM/ISPS auditor. Antonio started his career in the Brazilian Navy with some sea time as well as management roles in warship new construction projects.
