People are the backbone of any consultancy business. We have over 300 professionally qualified full-time employees and dedicated contract personnel from a wide variety of backgrounds, including twenty nationalities and at least twelve languages. Collectively they offer not only a diverse range of technical skills and expertise, but also an awareness of the cultures, customs and sensitivities of the countries in which we operate.
LOC’s Master Mariners have a broad spectrum of nautical backgrounds. Their seagoing and command experience includes tankers, LNG and LPG carriers, bulk carriers, container vessels, general cargo, passenger ferries and liners, offshore construction vessels, tugs and AHTS (anchor handling tug supply) vessels. Many of our Master Mariners also have shore management experience as superintendents and fleet managers.
Our civil engineers have designed and built ports, harbours and offshore structures, and worked on bridges, cranes and offshore cargo-handling facilities. At LOC, we use their engineering knowledge on fixed object damage cases, offshore structure transportation and installation, and general engineering consultancy work.
Like our Master Mariners, our marine engineers come from various seagoing backgrounds. Many have served as Chief Engineer, and have worked ashore in management, as superintendents, and for classification societies.
LOC’s naval architects have specialist knowledge and experience in the design and construction of ships and floating offshore structures. They have worked for shipyards, classification societies, ship operators and offshore energy companies, and contractors among others.
Many of our structural engineers have worked in the offshore oil and gas industry, so are extremely knowledgeable in the design and build of fixed, floating and subsea offshore drilling and production facilities. They also have expertise in other maritime structures such as cranes and port conveyor systems.
These specialist engineers have offshore oil and gas industry backgrounds, and have worked on the design and installation of subsea facilities and pipelines.
